Music Business Association Los Angeles (M.B.A.L.A.)
[ SPEC PROJECT ]
Los Angeles County has numerous large-scale venues. In Inglewood, CA, alone, there are two arenas and one stadium, all within walking distance of each other, generating millions of dollars in revenue. Across each venue, there is a broad range of community initiatives, none of which intentionally focus on developing a direct pipeline of native, local, and underrepresented talent to opportunities and exposure at the corporate level.
I created an original, yet spec, corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept for a company or non-profit (M.B.A.L.A.) to partner with arenas, stadiums, and other large-scale entertainment venues in communities facing these challenges. The goal is to break down barriers to entry, challenge gatekeeping, and employ talent on a full-time basis at the corporate level or in an entrepreneurial capacity. Ultimately, provide sponsorship and access for native and underrepresented talent seeking to launch their careers in the music business.
